List for the 2007 Hockeytown USA "For Kids Sake" Golf Tournament continues to gain speed.

Here is the confirmed list:Willie O'Ree (Boston Bruins), Dean Blais (Columbus Bluejackets), Henry Boucha (MN North Stars), David Christian ('80 Miracle On Ice), Billy Christian ('60 Olympics Gold Medal), Ginny Christian ('56 Olympic Silver Medalist), Bill Butters (MN North Stars), Tim Hennesey ("The Voice" of Fighting Sioux), Mike "Lefty" Curran ('72 Olympic Silver Medalist), Andy Schneider (UND / Pittsburgh Penguins), Mike Prpich (UND / Scorpions CHL), Chris Porter (UND / Chicago Blackhawks), Matt Smaby (Tampa Bay Lightning), Craig Sarner (MN North Stars), Huffer Christianson (UMD / WHA), Murray Williamson ('72 USA Olympic Coach), T.J. Oshie Sports & Entertainment is proud to announce the 2007 Hockeytown USA "For Kids Sake" Celebrity Golf Tournament & Auction to be held on August 18-19, 2007, at the Warroad Estates Golf Course, adjecent to the beautiful southern shores of Lake of the Woods in Warroad, Minnesota.

The event is headlined by Willie O'Ree, the first African-American player to play in the National Hockey League. O'Ree, who works for the National Hockey League with the NHL / USA Hockey Diversity Task Force, will once again return to Warroad. Other commitments thus far include Dean Blais (Columbus Bluejackets), Bill Butters (MN NorthStars), Henry Boucha (MN North Stars), Jonathan Toews (Chicago Blackhawks), Chris Porter (Chicago Blackhawks), Matt Smaby (Tampa Bay Lightning), Craig Sarner (MN North Stars), T.J. Oshie (UND), Gordon Christian ('56 Olympic Silver Medalist), Billy Christian ('60 Olympic Gold Medalist), Andy Schneider (Pittsburgh Penguins), Mike "Lefty" Curran ('72 Olympic Silver Medalist).

Over 100 NHL and USA Olympic hockey players have been invited to attend and the list grows daily. The event will attract golfers from across the greater five-state region of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin and well as our Canadian neighbors.

Each fivesome will include a celebrity figure within the sports and entertainment field. "Warroad, and Hockeytown USA, will produce an event second to none in the northern Minnesota region," Director Timothy Oshie announced today. "The event will include golfing, fishing and a dinner/auction at the conclusion.

It plans to be a first class event raising funds "For Kids Sake."

"The main attraction will be golfing at the pristine, Warroad Estates Golf Course. The Warroad Estates has played host to this event inthe past and plans on another smashing success. The golf course features an ever so challenging 18-holes. The course is currently enjoying its best early season on record with its plush fairways and immaculate greens.

Cost per team is $500.00 which includes four members. Individuals are also accepted at $125.00 per golfer in which the tournament willplace in the field. A fishing outing is also planned for the celebrity guests and the general public will have a chance to purchase charters to "Fish with the Stars" on Lake of the Woods.

Corporate title and event sponsorships are currently being sought by the event committee which is planning several on-course contests anda long-drive contest at the conclusion. Welcome to "Hockeytown USA News & Views" which covers the Warroad Warriors Boy's Hockey program and updates from the Fighting Sioux of the University of North Dakota.

Each week, I will updating information, statistics, photos, "player of the week" honors, news from Minnesota State Hockey League, UND Fighting Sioux Hockey and a plethora of other topics.

Warroad, MInnesota, in nestled just four miles from the Canadian border and is the home land of NHLer's Henry Boucha, Alan Hangsleben, David Christian, Wyatt Smith, T.J. Oshie, the 2005 1st Round Draft Choice (24th overall of St. Louis Blues) and Aaron Marvin, the 2006 3rd Round Draft Choice (89th overall of the Calgary Flames).

Righteously labeled, "Hockeytown USA" by the late Morrie Taylor (Mayor), Warroad has sent over 50 former Warriors, the high school hockey team, to Division 1 hockey programs since 1947.

Warroad is also home to USA Hockey Olympians: Gordon "Ginny" Christian, Billy Christian, Roger Christian, Dan McKinnon, Henry Boucha and David Christian.

The US Hockey of Fame, located in Eveleth, MN, has inducted five members from Warroad.
